2010 Greeting Cards

As our service project this year we are planning to hand out blank greeting cards for members to paint over the summer.  Designs should be suitable for any occasion. Each member will get 3 cards, and we are asking that you include a stamp on the envelopes when you return them.  We will be donating them to an organization who will send them to soldiers in a war zone, so that they may send them to their families.  These will be distributed at the May meeting, so even if you can’t attend Stef’s class, please stop by and pick up your greeting cards.

PAINTED BIRDHOUSES for ARC...
Our 2009 annual service project was painting birdhouses for ARC. They will sell them at their fundraiser early next year. The birdhouses were beautiful and different - there's a lot of imagination and talent in CCDP!

Our 2008 annual service project was painting eyeglass cases for residents of an assisted living and nursing home facility.  Our members painted 102 cases over the summer; each case unique.  On September 13, we went to Myrtle Beach Manor to distribute the cases.   The recipients thought they were beautiful and were very happy and surprised that they were "free".

Paint with ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens)

Volunteers Welcome

There is a wonderful, on going, non chapter event that is being coordinated by Dolores McMahon, Sue Hecimovich, and Barbara Dieckmann.  These ladies are working with approximately 15 young men and women clients of ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) who enjoy the painting and crafts that they bring each month.   The session is held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Christ the Servant Lutheran Church across from Horry-Georgetown Tech (brown brick building) . The session starts at 6:00 and is over by 7:15-7:30.   They are looking for volunteers for  March, April, May, September, October, November, or December.  If you can help one month or many, please let one of these ladies know.  Even last minute help is appreciated; just bring a smile.
