The making of a seminar...
Teachers Fee:

Minimum is $350.00 a day and goes up from there.
(Note: We have had very few for $350.00.)
Travel Expenses:

We provide airfare or mileage and the final cost depends on where they are coming from. (Airfare and gas prices are increasing all the time.)

Rooming: Hotel for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Food: All meals are provided during the time the teacher is in town.
Supplies:

The board tries to include the paint supplies and reasonably priced surfaces.  Our purpose is to expose you to different mediums without costing members exorbitant  prices.

Meeting Place:

Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club currently charges $50 per day. We have tried other places but have been quoted $100.00 a day or more.  Most places do not welcome painters. MBYG has always welcomed us, and they provide a spacious place to paint along with kitchen and restroom facilities.

Finalizing the cost of a seminar:
  1. We total all costs of the seminar to the best of our ability.

  2. We divide those cost into how many members we think will attend.

  3. If we do not get enough response from the membership we can cancel within a reasonable length of time.  If we do have to cancel we may lose our deposit and possibly the teachers fees, as well.

  4. Unless we can get a commitment and payment from you ahead of time we cannot determine if the class will make.

  5. We do offer a refund policy if you cancel 30 days in advance.

  6. If you cancel after 30 days and if there is a waiting list the chapter will provide a refund to you. We cannot return money if the seminar is not full.

  7. It is our intent to keep price at a minimum, however, seminar teachers fee's are rising all the time.

  8. Please realize that the seminar and program chairman are following the direction of the board.  Any complaints should be directed to the president.

  9. Any member interested in reviewing the cost of a  a particular seminar may contact the board to obtain that information.

We are all painting friends enjoying our time together.  It is difficult for the seminar and program person to have to call to remind members of unpaid commitments.

I want to personally thank the seminar and program chairmen for all of the time and effort that they put into making each activity a success.
