PRESIDENT’S LETTER -
January 12, 2012
Presidents Letter:
Happy New Year to all of you and I think this is going to be a very good year
for painting. Please look over the schedules and sign up.
We had a lot of fun at Lin’s class. Our bowls turned out so cute. We
sculptured the noses out of quick wood. Lin, thank you. It was a good class.
Kathie George’s seminar is coming up next. We have a few seats left. I know
some of you have done the batiks but the mixed media is different. Consider
trying these two media’s.
Dorothy Whisenhunt’ seminar will be in March 31
st/April
1st. The colors in those birds are so vivid. I like that. I would be anxious to try the kinetics. We have Deitrah’s brush holder in March. This is a cute project and it should be fun and relaxing. Have you signed up???
I sent out a blurb from National regarding the tags that they asked us to
paint. I know there were mixed feeling about doing this but if you would paint please
let me know. This would also go towards our chapter achievement award.
Stephanie Roy has volunteered to design a tag for us. All of us would paint the
same tag. I would need them no later than the April meeting in order to get them to national by May 1. I am hoping to have the tags at the February meeting.
Steph, thanks for doing this.
Also the "Save our Cats" and " Canine Angels" projects we are going to for
our
philanthropic obligation for national. You can donate anything. It doesn’t
have to be animal related just something that would sell at their fundraisers. I
would need these by the August 25th meeting.
If you would consider taking an office for next year please let me know so we
can have you attend the board meetings to get your feet wet if you have not
served on the board. It is a good way to see what your chapter does and what it
takes to run it.

Painters Meeting, January 7, 2012
Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club
Meeting was called to order at 9:10am by President
Dolores McMahon.
Our president welcomed everyone and reminded everyone to get started on our
service projects for “save our cats” and “canine angels”. The projects should be
handed in by August 25, 2012.
New Business:
National requested all chapters to paint tags for favors for the “40th
Anniversary. Stefanie Roy volunteered to design a pattern for the tags that we
can paint. We need to notify National how many we will paint.
We currently have 43 members.
Old Business:
Barbara reminded everyone that Soldiers Angels continues to need blankets and
goodies. Anyone willing to help may contact Barbara Dieckmann.
Treasurer’s Report: We have $6,402.00 in our treasury.
Programs: Signup sheet for Deitrah’s class is in the back. Barbara
reminded everyone to sign up. The cost is $20 and the class is on 3/3/12.
Seminars: February 4 & 5th is Kathy George
March 3rd is Deitrah Smith
March 30th and April 1st is Dorothy Whisenhunt
April 28th is Linda Blackmon
