NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS:

PRESIDENT’S LETTER - JANUARY 2010

One of my new year’s resolutions is to get my President’s letters out in a timely fashion - one down - eleven to go!!!

We had a great time with Bev last weekend. We did a lot of subtle shading on our leaves and flowers - Gail Anderson designs use a very soft palette. The mirrors turned out beautifully, and if anyone is interested, Mimi has a few extra surfaces to sell.

There are still openings for the Jillybean Fitzhenry seminar February 6th and 7th . If you can’t do both days, we are taking registrations for a single day. The price for one day is $50, plus surface costs. The giraffe picture will be on Saturday, and the angel project on Sunday. Contact Mimi Hankins at 222-0612 if you’d like to sign up for one of the days (or both!!).

We have a great program on March 6th being taught by Pat Egloff. The pictures online don’t do the peasant girl justice - she’s really beautiful. You can contact Laurel at 294-1454 to sign up. The surface and most paints are included in the cost, which is $25.

The board is choosing a project for the Mary Jane Todd seminar, which will take place April 24th and 25th. She is a great teacher and does wonderful fruit and flower designs.

On another note, it can be difficult keeping track when people pay for programs, seminars or memberships in cash. We strongly recommend that you pay for everything by check; this makes tracing payments so much easier. If you don’t have a checking account, we are requesting that you enclose your cash payment in an envelope, with your name and the purpose of the payment written on it. Both the seminar, program and membership chairs will have some blank envelopes for your convenience.

See you all in February.

Clare

Chapter Meeting – February 6, 2010
Coastal Carolina Decorative Painters
Seminar taught by Jill Fitzhenry (JillyBean)
Myrtle Beach
Golf and Yacht Club

President, Clare Majorossy called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m., welcoming everyone.

Clare reported that our April, 2010 seminar with Mary Jane Todd, has been cancelled due to her health issues.  We hope to reschedule her for a future year.   Backup plans have  worked out, so the Board will be discussing options for April.   We will let everyone know as soon as something definite has been decided.

Our next newsletter will be coming out in mid-February.  Please advise if there is anything that should be in the newsletter.   There will be a Superbowl party at Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club on Sunday the 7th and we need to finish our project by 4:00.    There was some discussion about the time frame and it was decided to start Sunday’s class at 8:00 a.m.

Treasurer, Ellen Banzaca, reported $4,921.76 as of 2/10/2010 in our checking account at Carolina First, using the Litchfield Branch.

Seminar Chair, Mimi Hankins, reported that since April’s seminar with Mary Jane Todd has been cancelled, our next seminar will be November Cheri Rol.

Program Chair, Laurel Barbour reported that our March 6 program will be a beautiful “bridal board” taught by Pat Egloff.  It will be held at Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht; cost is $25 includes surface and paints.

New Business:  Bev Cratty made the suggestion that each person bring their own tablecloth to the meetings.  After discussion it was decided that each person should bring their own tablecloth to any extra (or non-CCDP) painting activity.  This way the Seminar Chair would not have to be hauling around bags with tablecloths.

Motions were made and the meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
Mimi introduced Jillybean

Respectfully submitted by:
Ellen Banzaca for Pat Egloff, Secretary

Chapter Meeting – January 2, 2010
Coastal Carolina Decorative Painters
Seminar taught by Beverly Cratty
Myrtle Beach
Golf and Yacht Club

President, Clare Majorossy called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m., welcoming everyone.  Clare requested that a motion be made for approval of the minutes of the November Chapter meeting as published in the Nov/Dec. newsletter.  Motion made by Dolores McMahon; seconded by Doris Young.  Mention was made that everyone at this meeting had renewed their membership with CCDP and SDP, so no reminders were necessary today.

Treasurer, Ellen Banzaca, reported $5,049.51 as of 1/2/10 in our checking account at Carolina First, using the Litchfield Branch.

Seminar Chair, Mimi Hankins, reported that our next seminar will be in February with JillyBean; April will be Mary J. Todd and November Cheri Rol.   Extra frames and mirrors used in today’s seminar are available for $20.00

Program Chair, Laurel Barbour reported that our March program will be a beautiful “bridal board” taught by Pat Egloff.  It will be held at Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht; cost is $25 includes surface and paints.

Motions were made and the meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m.
Mimi introduced “needs no introduction”  Beverly Cratty.

Respectfully submitted by:
Ellen Banzaca for Pat Egloff, Secretary
